TaxStream 2008 User Conference
The Hilton New Orleans Riverside will be the setting for the TaxStream 2008 User Conference beginning with a Welcome Reception on Tuesday evening, May 13th. Conference classes will be held Wednesday, May 14th through Friday, May 16th.

Client Focused Workshops
TaxStream hosts client focused workshops that provide a detailed analysis of FIN 48 and purchase accounting.
Client focused workshops include a demonstration of the featured functions by TaxStream consultants, followed by detailed discussions led by clients. During the discussions clients are encouraged to raise advanced tax accounting issues and draw on mutual experiences of the group for practical solutions. These solutions can then be incorporated into the client's own TaxStream process.

The FIN 48 demonstration will cover integration with FAS 109, measurement, changes in outlook, and journal entries.

TaxStream Insurance User Group Meeting
The TaxStream Insurance User Group meets regularly. They last met on June 26, one day before the annual TaxStream User Conference in San Diego
The group first met in Hartford in October 2006 to discuss tax accounting issues unique to the insurance industry. Topics on the agenda for the June 26 meeting include:
- New TaxStream features for the insurance industry
- Statutory reporting (including SSAP 10 compliance)
- FIN 48
- Development of a TaxStream insurance module
TaxStream is encouraging the development of similar user groups in other industries with a view toward creating industry specific modules. There are industry sessions at the annual TaxStream user conference for the pharmaceutical, financial services, manufacturing, energy and utility, and service industries.
